The practice of Dietetics is changing. Engaging in supervision can support, sustain and stretch you in your work.
Hello! Lovely to meet you inside DSRA or 'desi' as she has become fondly known.
I am dedicated to building a community of skillful supervisors and promoting a culture of supervision in Australian Dietetics. DSRA has been built to achieve this goal, step by step. Not by me alone of course! I am supported by a team of committed DSRA consultants and a wonderful collection of colleagues beyond that.
Supervision for me has been a life line for growth, insight, support and sanity. I am enriched by both providing supervision and attending supervision.
My practice currently specialises in providing supervision to Dietitians from broad practice areas including group supervision of supervision. I have a small private practice that is focused on assisting people experiencing eating disorders and other mental health issues. I also run a training service Practice Pavestones that teaches Motivational Interviewing to health professionals. I facilitate experiential training in Professional Boundaries and teach supervision to Dietitians.
My practice is closed to new intake while I focus on DSRA, supervision training and supervision of new trainees
Some of the fancy:
I am a PACFA Registered Counsellor/Psychotherapist, PACFA Accredited Supervisor, member of MINT Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers as well as an Accredited Practising Dietitian.
I've been working a long time (and not always in a straight line). Long enough to know how true this is: 'a good half of every treatment that probes at all deeply, consists in the doctor's examining themselves'. Jung.
